Walleye
The mid-July pattern is in full swing. Fish are holding on deep structure in 18 to 26 feet, and wind-blown points are producing the best stretches of the day. Live-bait rigs with crawlers and leeches are outfishing everything else, with the bigger fish coming off the deeper edges early and late.
Muskie and pike
Muskie are following in numbers, and the eats are coming in low light: first hour of the morning and the last hour before dark. Bucktails over the weed edges are moving the most fish. Pike are stacked in the cabbage and hitting spoons all day.
Panfish and smallmouth
Smallmouth are on the rock piles in 8 to 14 feet and crushing tubes and topwater in the mornings. Bluegills are shallow and eager, which makes for a perfect kids trip, and crappie are suspending off the weedlines toward evening.
